The day was an exhaustive affair that brought a bead of sweat to Chimaera’s brow. In the large cage, carefully rolled from the cart by hired hands, his quarry paced nervously about. A low growl emitted from its curled lip as it leered at the ranger from its barred prison. Once the cage was placed in the shade, the tiger within let out a mighty roar and swiped at the hired hands. Even though they jumped away quickly, Chimaera patted them on the shoulders and waved them off. He carefully approached the cage and leaned against the wooden exterior while he watched the tigress stalk and try to calm herself. “First major sell out of the way with you; Zandack’s going to be happy I think.”

It had took work in order to move the large cat from one area to the next. By time Zandack had come to the shop, however, the tigress was safely away in her new home and being prepared for the rough training that would happen for the next three weeks. When his friend rushed into the stables and exclaimed in excitement, Chimaera smiled tiredly up from where he sat feeding a dodo hatchling.
Slowly, he stood with aid from his hands being placed firmly on the desk itself and approached Zandack. He watched the animal pace back and forth in her cage before she settled in the corner. “It’s going to take at least three weeks for me to completely train her and domestic her. I say in a week, you can come into the stable to aid in the training. She will need to get used to your scent and you need to be trained how to handle her yourself - that’s when it’ll be safe enough to pet her.” His smile did not falter as he turned his head to look at Zandack. It actually seemed to widen.
“That would be appreciative. I had fun looking for her, trapping her and bringing her back. The hirelings didn’t. They weren’t used to such a large feline. But, she’s young. I suspect she hasn’t even had a litter yet. So we were in luck.”

Tomond gave a small tap on the door before he entered a smile on his face. He was in a wonderful mood and because of such a mood he had thought of something devious. He waited till the two had quieted before he spoke up.
"Ding dong Tomonds here. I hope I'm not interrupting anything. I had just been thinking on something and was wondering if you could help me, seeing as you're the animal handler it seems."

"Be with you in one moment," Chimaera said.
The ranger nodded and smiled. "Of course, I'll meet you tonight in the mess hall - I'm going to need a big meal after training this one I think." He watched Zandack leave, and approached the other man. "How can I help you?"

Tomond entered into the building completely, opening his arms wide in a sign of greeting.
"Hello there, I don't think I've properly met you for one, so let's get that out of the way first. My name is Tomond Aryn, somewhat new around here, but I hope that won't be to big of a problem."
He offered his hand in greeting, smiling wide at the other man as he did so, whether the man shook his hand or not wasn't of any concern to Tomond, who immediately after putting his hand out continued with what he was speaking on.
"You can help me, with a little project that I'm working on, there's a certain animal that I wish to tame. Are you familiar with the fey creature the Twigjack? Nasty little buggers I hear, but something I'm hoping I can subjugate and train to do what I want."

Chimaera paused a moment as he went to clean up his desk. He stared at the man for a second and simply then started to gather papers up and place them in a neat stack. "First off, fey aren't creatures. The majority of them are sentient beings and so what you're suggesting is slavery," he turned and regarded the man closely, "even a Twigjack is intelligent. Mind you it's smarter than the average commoner. And since slavery is against the law," he trailed off with a slow shrug of his shoulders. "You're not going to find fey in this area - there were some back near an old temple that we discovered - they poisoned our horses and tried to get us lost in the woods. Don't know if any of those were Twigjack's. I'm just warning you that this is a dangerous path you're starting to walk down. You will more than likely become their slave then you making them yours."

Tomond thought for a moment on what he said, then shrugged his shoulders a bit. A wide smile on his lips.
"Life's a gamble, I'll give it a shot when I get the chance to, until then I bid you adieu."
He gave a flourished bow to Chimaera, and quickly exited the area, talking to himself as he did. Most likely planning something stupidly insane.
(Tomond has left the RP.)

"... And this why we keep losing people. Balaria help us, we may have another one on our hands." The ranger muttered to himself as he turned back to his work, already focused on the task at hand to train this tiger.

Richard knocked on the door of the shop and entered, flanked by Charles. "I find myself in need of your services. I need you to hunt and kill for me a Grizzly Bear. I will go with you and lend you aid in the felling of the beast. Since you do not need to haul the animal back nor do you have to train it, how much would this service cost?"

The incubator stove was opened when Richard walked into his shop. The dire crocodile eggs being turned with the special crank so they would not roost within their shells. When the bell chimed he stood up, closed the door and approached the counter while he took off his protective mittens. "Grizzly you say? Sorry, but I'm not taking you on the hunt with me. You're not trained for that sort of endeavor. But, I have ways to preserve the body so the meat doesn't spoil or the hide rot." He pulled out a large leather tome and sat it on the counter in front of them. "Hiring, expenses and the like ... plus killing the animal which is a service I don't offer ... We're looking at 900 gold, and your quarry wouldn't be delivered until two weeks from now." He looked up at the man and smiled, "grizzly bears aren't indigenous to this area - I would have to travel up north where colder forests reside. Near the mountains."
"That would be 15 gold for hiring me, 740 for the bear itself and the extra expenses for killing the creature, paying my guys who can brave the wilderness, time away from the estate and to preserve it long enough so that it doesn't crystallize. Payment is up front and all I need is your name to put in the books." He reached out and took the ink pen from its well. "This is a large creature as well ... that is pretty powerful. Hence the final tally of 900. It's going to take me away from any missions the New Dawn may need me for - as well as any important higher up meetings I may be in need to attend - which is fine." He looked up from the ledger with a shrug of his shoulders, "business and gold is business and gold, am I right?"
"I also would like to point out that it's cousin, the black bear is of medium size and would be about 750 gold. It will still require two weeks however. But, the bear is much easier to obtain than a ferocious grizzly."

Richard pauses for a moment, considering the man's words and weighing his options.
"Your terms are acceptable. I will accept delivery of the Grizzly Bear in two weeks. Here is your payment"
Richard proffers a bag of coins and drops it onto the table. The coins ring distinctively as they land.
"As for my name, it is Richard. It's been a pleasure doing business with you."

He nodded, and took the gold offered to him. Chimaera looked down at the leather tome and recorded the order along with payment. "Two weeks, and I will be back with your order - as always give or take a day or two due to travel and unforeseeable circumstances," he said to the departing gentleman. His brow raised in curiosity, he air dried the ink before he closed the tome and returned to his shop upkeep while he made plans for travel.

Chimaera stood up from where he had been crouched over a bag of supplies. Speaking with the two hirelings, he paused and glanced up to see his friend approach. He grinned as he nodded to the others, stood and came over to the man. "Excellent ... this quiver and bag will help me out a lot. It's also pretty cheap compared to Ki's - not that he actually has these items." He pulled out a bag of gold from the side and handed it over to Zandack. "3800 gold as promise," he said. Chimaera followed him to the cage, which the door remained opened for her to come and go as she pleased.
"I've heard ... the list of her commands is there in that envelope on the cage. Because of how she is trained, she will listen to only the sound of your voice and mine. So, you have yourself a fully trained tiger." He picked up a large sack of items and handed it out to Zandack. "Here's the rest of your order - and since I've recently learned how to prepare food that will contain the protein and vitamins she needs, you can purchase feed for her from me. My assistant will be here while I'm gone. It's just ten gold per week worth of feed."
