(Background music is optional to listen to)Having received their introductions in the form of a rousing speech from Lady Odessa and/or Hiroshi, the recruits are let off to enjoy a couple of days settling in and getting to know each other. There will come a time when every man and woman present will look to one another for support in the battles yet to come; life and death balance on very sensitive scales, threatening to unhinge one way or the other for any hapless fool. But for now, respite is now at hand, especially after so many must have come a long way. The grounds of the New Dawn Estate are indeed lush with greenery, crystal-clear waters and facilities to accommodate almost every need... One such building has been converted into a tavern; stocked with all the beverages and snacks one can hope to find in a typical establishment in some other corner of Alexius. Various decorations colour the walls with a homely comfort and worldly aesthetic, made purposely to be as inviting as possible. As one would walk in, the tavern already has several patrons going about their business, or simply relaxing. You can find many other recruits within this place, those that you train and fight alongside. The clink and clatter of glasses permeates the room as idle conversation blankets the atmosphere with activity. Food and drink have been supplied to give out freely to the recruits, but a limit has been placed. - Arlen (Gaston) - Killashandra (Seith) - Vicros (Bob) - Aiden (Wisna) - Keran (Zombehs)

Arlen stands by the counter, with a glass of water in hand; almost overwhelmed and surprised by the sheer difference from one person to the next, in terms of appearance, culture, background, etc. It was quite the motley crew of patrons and something one would expect in some sort of adventuring tavern. He was still coming to terms with recent events, particularly his invitation to the rebellion and the results of the first mission. It would have taken only one slip-up for things to go so horribly and unfortunately the look of shame was plastered on his face, as best as Arlen tried to hide it. His dirtied cloak draped down his back and Arlen readjusted his firey-red hair. Looking around at the patrons, he was certainly intimidated, but he tried putting on a brave face to mingle with his fellow recruits.

Making her way into the crowd of people, Killashandra dressed in a simple tunic and pants. Her armor and sword stored away untill needed again but keeping the two daggers on her hips. She makes her way to the hearth to grab some of the cooked meat and a pint of what every the are serving and moves to a far back corner with in eye shot of Arlen. She gives him a nod before biting into the cooked meat noding to some of the other men around her as the speak to her but never saying anything back. Killashandra knows she is out of place here among the other members of New Dawn but she tries her best to play the part.

Still drinking her pint, Killashandra looks at Vic with her eyes only slowly drinking looking for the words. Mentely kicking herself for not being very good with people she lowers her drink and sighs. "I am doing well, it would be a lie to say i am not weaker then normal but I can still hold my own, I have even gone on a job since my death." She grabs another piece of meat and takes a bite out of it slowly chowing while looking at Vic once more. Finshing with what was in her mouth she tilits her head as if not sure she is being plite or not. "How do you fair?"

Killashandra sighs and sits at the table with him. "No you didn't bother me, I am just not good with people, been too away from the world for the last 7 years." She offers Vicros a pint and gives him a what could be called a smile. "I would go into the feild with a cold if need be, I am not a fan of sitting around when there is work to be done." She looks around to the people moving around. "How about you?"

Aiden sat the bar dressed in simple wool shirt and pants with a leather vest and shoes, his shield rested at the foot of his stool. Coming in and seeing all the faces had been quite the experience for him. Though eavesdropping on tales of people's old glory, their hopes for future, their reasons for joining the New Dawn, and other interesting bits of conversation had been fun at first he eventually got bored of it. Now he sat at the bar reading a book on Balaria, one of the books his Uncle Cain had given him before he left him. There were quite the interesting tales in here. Balaria certainly was an interesting woman. Looking down at the shield he had brought with him, he wondered if he could meet her one day. Looking up from his book he noticed Arlen and called over to him.
"Ah! Mr. Arlen! Is that you over there?"

The plethora of conversations was quite delightful and comforting; it reminded him of home, being so busy as Nirdan was. Well in this case any decently populated place would remind him somewhat of home anyway, but it was a pleasant atmosphere nonetheless. His gaze drifts about from patron to patron with a smile on his face, until his attention is caught by the enthusiastic young Aiden. Arlen steadily walks over and takes a seat beside him, curious to find the young man here of all places, but to each his own.
"Greetings Sir, nice to see you out and about on the Estate."

He looked at his book and shut it before looking up at Arlen. "Thank you Mr. Arlen! Everyone from the estate was invited so I figured I'd come. It's fun! There's so many interesting stories everyone has!" He crossed his arms. "What brang you here Mr. Arlen? Everyone's talking and asking each other that, so I guess I should too!"

Vic accepts the drink with a warm smile and takes a swig. "I know what you mean. There is nothing I want more than to drive an arrow through Oliver's heart, and throw him in a mass grave with all of his lackeys. But I'm afraid this is going to be a long war, and it may be prolonged even more by these other dangers facing us and our supporters. We are going to need to learn to unwind on occasion if we are going to last." Vicros takes another drink and then scans around the room, noticing a lot of new faces. "It is not all so bleak though, we seem to be growing fast. When we first signed up there only seemed to be a handful of us new recruits, but now there are dozens." Killashandra nodes with him thinking over his words. She had a distant look in her eyes while thinking about why she is here and how much to share. "I understand you, and I have no issues with that, its why I start the day under a tree eating an apple." Looking around and taking in all the faces and merriment and shudders thinking of home. "To be honest with you I care not for the king, thats not why i joined. I came here hoping to fine the real person behind something I lost helping the Dawn is just a means to an end for now, not that i would ever do a a soul wrong."

Arlen approached the subject that Aiden brought up with a sad look on his face, forlorn and reminiscing about familiar faces. His returns his look to Aiden with a sad smile, taking a deep as he sits up straight.
"You could say the same about me; I was invited here, just like everyone else. Mr. Hiroshi told me a few very personal things and to put it short, injustice is the reason I stay, Sir."
He clings to the glass, deciding whether to drink or not as his other hand idly taps fingers on his lap, every clink on the metal plates disturbing the soft, blanketed atmosphere.

Seeing his sad smile, Aiden stopped kicking his feet back and forth and rested his arms on the table. Closing his eyes he took in the sounds of the tavern all around him. It was true, everyone seemed to have their own personal reasons to join the New Dawn, but the end goal of everyone was the same. To stop King Oliver's tyrannical rule. The bartender came up and filled the young boy's mug with ale again after seeing it was empty. When it was filled again, Aiden raised his mug to Arlen and clinked it against his drink to get his attention before raising it up for a toast. "Well, it's good that we have someone like you, Mr. Arlen! May we stop Oliver and bring peace to Alexius!"

His childlike enthusiasm was equally endearing as many others would find it worrisome. He looked around the tavern, at all the patrons with relaxed smiles and realised in that moment, that everyone in the New Dawn could find comfort despite their lives hanging on a knife's edge. The New Dawn Estate could become a haven, and maybe not out of choice but necessity; nobody could leave for the danger that lurked outside, the threat of beasts and turncoats and the slim chance that their secret headquarters could be exposed. Security is definitely vigilant and yet, despite the danger, there are people with smiling faces in this tavern... Among the Estate. For now the Estate was his home, but Arlen thought to himself if he would ever learn about his heritage and maybe... Just maybe... Find his true home.
Arlen's daydreaming was broken with the clink of Aiden's ale-filled glass. It was more than enough reason to take his own and have a good swig... Albeit a swig of cold, cold water. He finds it more comforting that a young man of Aiden's energetic attitude used the word "stop" instead of "kill" because it never really dawned on him if killing was the right solution. He raises his glass and lowers his head slightly, out of respect for the toast, doing his best to cheer up the mood with a charming smile of his own. For now, there was little to do except enjoy themselves... Something most people are too busy to remember. Arlen smiles softly, leaning on the counter with one elbow, hand still holding the glass.
"And pray that we all becomes heroes in the making. So what do you mean by it's good that the New Dawn has someone like me?"

He was feeling a slight buzz of warmth from the ale, but he was still conscious about what was going on around him. Looking around Aiden lightly put his fist against Arlen's chest with a grin. "Well Mr. Arlen, I dunno. You just seem special." Scanning the room Aiden's eyes come across Vicros and Killashandra. He called out to them to get their attention before turning back to the older man to nudge side with his elbow."Hey Mr. Arlen, look! It's Ms. Killashandra and Mr. Vicros! Shall we go sit next to them?"

Aiden looked over at Arlen and then pointed over to Killashandra and Vicros before hopping off his stool. He picked up his book and shield before heading over to the table and sitting with Vicros and Killashandra. He set his shield beside his chair and then set his book on the table in front of him before looking up at the two of them with a smile.
"Hey guys! I'm glad you all are doing well. How are you enjoying the big party?"

Vicros takes another drink as Aiden walks over and then sets it down and smiles. "Every one of those *gestures towards drink* has me enjoying it a little more. It is good to see everyone unwind a little. After that walk home yesterday I was starting to fear that we were nearing a breaking point. This is exactly what we needed to take a step back from the fight and regroup. How are you enjoying the party Mr. Aiden? By the way, I love the look of these strangely darkened spectacles you are wearing. Were those another gift from your uncle?" (LMAO! Not really how he looks, just a funny profile picture. Also heads up earlier, don't double post, just edit your first post.) Aiden nodded as his Vicros gestured toward the drink and pat his stomach with a big jolly grin.
"It sure does beat drinking water all day, Mr. Vicros, and it gives me some warmth drinking it. What was it the bar tender called it? Ale right? Yeah! And the party is great, all the people and laughter and stories everyone is sharing. I just wish Kirah was here to join us..."
The boy looked off towards the fireplace as the grin disappeared from his face, resting his chin on his palm. The once naive and joyful glint in his eyes had become a little dimmer ever since that last venture down into the caverns below the bandit camp.
"Was it necessary to take her out? It didn't stop the creature from appearing at all. And we never found Gerald either. Sure it might be stuck down there underwater but how do we know it won't find a way up anyway? Even if Rosentine is where Oliver resides that doesn't mean everyone there should be wiped out. What was Kirah thinking summoning a monster like that?"

Aiden felt a little guilty when noticing the solemn face Vicros wore after he had answered and turned back to the older man. Now wasn't the time to bring up upsetting past events, it was a time for merriment and relaxation. With a sigh, Aiden gave Vicros a reassuring smile and placed his hand on the leather cover of his book before speaking.
"Well, what's done is done. There's no need to dwell on the past right? I'm sure you didn't mean to kill her, just incapacitate her, but some things don't go as we plan. I was weakened by the shadows before but the next time we see that beast we'll be sure to take it out." The boy gave Vicros's mug a clink with his own and took a swig of his ale. "Learn from the past and smile for the future. It was a tense situation after all, and we had no idea what was going on. At least most of us got out in one peace, thankfully."
He gestured to Killashandra as he spoke of them getting out. "You're pretty lucky Ms. Killy. You've gotten beaten up quite a lot these past ventures, how are you feeling? Jumping in front of that arrow gave me quite a fright. That's the second time I've seen you on the ground with a deep wound. Do be more careful Ms. Killy. Even Mr. Chimaera was looking quite pale when he saw you fall."
"Hmm..." Opening his book on Balaria, Aiden flipped through the book until he came across the page he was looking for. "It says here in this book that monsters like what we saw can only be slain with silver or with weapons blessed by the gods." He looked up and over at Arlen, who still sat at the counter. "That flash of light I saw when Mr. Arlen first struck a blow against that demon, is that what all people like him can do? Is he blessed by the gods?"

"A means to an end seems to be the thing that unites us most. From what I have gathered from other recruits we all seem to have a personal grievance with the Alexian government and the New Dawn simply appears to be the most likely organization to bring the government down. I honestly have no idea what kind of world our benevolent leaders would build if. . . no when we accomplish that. I like to tell myself it will be better, but really I am just confident that it can't possibly be worse. But I think you are the first person who seems indifferent about Oliver. If you are willing to share, I would be curious to know what it is that brought you to the New Dawn if not the revolution." Killashandra looks down at her drink as Aiden walks up to them. "The quick reason is because of the eradication of the other races. I lost someone very important to me because of it and my family. But even though its been seven years its not something I wish to talk of yet, perhaps in time you can get the story out of me, but you can ask things now if you like about it but you will not get everything about my past." Killashandra nods to Aiden as he sits down.
"I am enjoying it very much Kid, roasted meat and some heavy Ale is a good way to pick up ones soul. And by the gods we need it after yestderday." Finishing her third pint she gets another refill. She goes silent as the two start to talk about everything that happened waiting for a good moment to speak up keeping her eyes closed as everything washs over her. Finialy she places her glass down and grunts. "Lossing her will not hurt the Dawn as a hole, we can't even be sure if she was really with us at all at that point or if ever. Magic if used wrong can not only harm other but your mind as well, much like my rage its so hard to hold back and not use it because its easyer to just let loose and damn who gets in the way. I would have rather have brought her back alive to find out why or if she was even still with us." taking another sip of her drink. "We can still find this all out of course if we have someone here with the magic to talk to the dead, but its a moot point now."
Finishing off her drink again she eyes Aiden. "I am fine, feeling much better now that a holy man unbound that chain of death that was holding me back, but you should know this Aiden." looking him into his eyes she speaks in an almost wise tone. "People will fall in battle, I myself rush into battle to deal with things, there will be times I fall to a bad stroke of luck. Do not let that slow you done, it is good to care that people fall but it does you very little to fall because your mind wonders because of a fallen ally." Getting another drink and hunk of meat she gives them a small smile.

Having taken his time to approach the group, of which he definitely had conflicting morals, he took a deep breath and mentally prepared himself. Needless killing was not going to get us anywhere at all: killing Ratic has destroyed a support line and killing Kirah did nothing to stop the portal. The one person they knew that was assumed knew how to close the portal is now dead, resting six feet under, hopefully with some peace. His doubts and failures came broiling to the forefront in that situation, but most predominantly was his failures... He sighed deeply and filled his glass with more water. The conversation over at Vicros' table seemed to have been going in a somber direction, but Aiden's optimism was yet another comfort for his comrades. The young man definitely needed to learn much about the world around and Arlen had the feeling Mr. Fisher lived in a somewhat closed-off lifestyle, so it now fell on his shoulders as a responsibility to help Aiden, especially after the amount of help he gave to everyone in return. One thing he could not fault was the young lad's good nature, even if it came with a lack of wisdom. He tentatively approached the table, seeming as how Vicros and himself were at odds in previous conversations.
"Greetings everyone, I hope you're all doing well since our last... Venture. How are you feeling Miss. Ree, Mr. Droverson"
It was a time for celebration and relaxation regardless and Arlen doesn't hate anyone at the New Dawn, he just doesn't understand his comrades, but that's no excuse. Under the motive that he was going to build bridges instead of destroy them, he smiled and took up an empty chair. Arlen caught the tail end of the conversation, questioning himself if he was truly blessed. Still, a weight of responsibility and shame hung heavy on his back as he sat down.
"I do empathise with you, Miss. I myself am one of those to head into battle first, if only to draw our enemy's ire from our companions, yet that was another mission failure on my part. We seem to find ourselves a little bit unfortunate."

Akasha enters the tavern closely followed by the limping Moriarty for whom she slows down so he can keep pace. The two make their way towards a small empty table, and Moriarty pulls out a seat for Akasha, before standing next to her. Akasha, a consort of some renown was invited to the estate, and as a lady of her status dresses in fine foreign clothing, catching the eye if only for a moment of least lucid individuals in room.
Moriarty: A drink for the mistress? Akasha: Not for the moment. Did you accomplish your tasks, while I was listening to that cheery speech? Moriarty: Yes, a private room on the top floor has been secured for yourself from the madame, and five of her girls agreed to come under your tutelage. All with, potential, of course. Akasha: You never disappoint, the rest of the day is yours. Moriarty: And you? Akasha: I'm curious to see anyone interesting got invited, it would be awfully disappointing if everyone turned out to be boring.
Moriarty gracefully bows as much as his back allows, and limps his away out of the tavern. As he leaves Akasha's gaze slowly begins to turn to the rest of the tavern.

"I am fine Arlen, not knocking on death's door anymore. and for your information the mission isn't finished so its not failed yet, its faild if that city burns." Giving him a hard look, one of rage but not at him more at her self. "these things happen, you can't always win and you can't save them all regardless of oaths made or your friendships."
Slowly drinking her drink she looks away at the bard playing music and hums along.
