Hotaru Aima is the daughter of two spies from the Damis Empire currently gathering info on the strong and weak points of Alexius. However gathering information is not all that they do, whenever a refugee tries to make way and hide in alexius her parents would also hunt them down (taking Hotaru with them to take notes) and kill them as traitors, sending their bodies back to the empire and receiving money within the month for such an act of loyalty. Sadly they also (to stick to their story) never informed her of their true home or heritage so she grew up thinking they were assassins for the king Oliver, himself.
Much to her avail they were eventually found out and they were then publicly executed by the king in front of the royal court accused of false pretenses (Human Trafficking from Damis). That was when she was 8, 8 years later she hasn't stopped their legacy but instead carries it on with the work of an angry assassin on a dangerous path. Still a child however in the eyes of her extended family that she's never met, they sent a new ambassador from the house of Ai (not the ruler but a lower lord that is expendable to the ruler of Damis). His name was Yamato Ai and his first day arriving in Alexius was 7 days after her Hotaru's parents death (the traditional amount of grieving time). Yamato made his way to Hotaru's house and decided to help the young girl understand what was actually going on in her life. Explaining that her last name was actually Ai and that she comes from a strong bloodline of fire jutsu (fire blast) users.
After training and making sure Haruto had her technique just right 4 years had passed by and it was time for Hotaru to seek a smart path of revenge for her late parents. which in turn led her to that grand estate in the woods and the piece of paper in her hands. Though she could care less about the government as a whole she just wants revenge on the king who slayed her parents. But to do that she would have to seek help from people she could trust as far as she can throw, and that wasn't very far...
Now onto the class in question. It is Ninja, first and foremost that's fine I'm very well aware of that. Its this particular archetype or ninja unchained (which is 3rd party but paizo approved mind you) that i want to use. Not the CLASS but the ARCHETYPE that meshes well with regular ninja which is what i intended to use.

Arsonist=the ability to use a torch as a light mace with one point of fire damage, nice! I lose poison use, and no i dont gain it back so i'm a ninja that can be poisoned by my own damn self, great. But i can still light the way for people!
Pyrokinetic Ki= Gain access to the fire blast wild talents and basic pyrokinesis, but if i dont expend ki everytime i use it i'm only treated as a level 1 kineticist. That sounds great but here's the kicker "A hoka-han cannot expend ki from her ki pool in order to make additional attacks during a full-attack, nor can she spend ki in order to give herself an insight bonus on Stealth checks. This ability alters ki pool." So i lose stealth bonus and additional attacks...but I can still burn people!
Ki Kinesis= I can add a form or substance infusion to my wild blast,have to meet all the prerequisites as well of course. But i have to pay ki to do it, and if it has a burn cost (which nearly all of them do at least the good ones anyway) I have to pay 2 extra ki points on top of however much the burn is. So that could be anywhere from 4 points to higher at low levels, can we say one trick pony? Oh did i mention I dont have a level 2 ninja trick to get.
Flame retardant= +1 bonus to saving throws to pretty much all effects deal with fire including but not limited to even breathing in heavy smoke,catching on fire etc. Oh you get to be part fireman but as a pyromaniac that only makes sense. You no longer have No Trace as well. Have fun hiding in the flames!
Firesight= Are we facing fire elementals! no...ok well this just got more useless,See through flames and smoke as if they were transparent. creatures with the fire subtype are cannot benefit from concealment or total concealment. That slightly defeats the purpose of smoke and heat giving away their position anyway but sure ok. Oh you give up Light Steps as well.
Greater Ki Kinesis = So now after 8 levels i can add a form and substance fusion to my fire blast at the cost of...wait for it...4 total ki points and however much the burn costs as well. In exchange for that I lose access my level 10 ninja trick, i.e Master Tricks...
My point for doing this isnt to rag on this choice of archetype its that just because it's 3rd party doesnt mean its evil or unbalanced but that paizo approved it and put it on their site even if they didnt make it. I feel if anyone else wants to try to do something similar to what im doing whether it gets approved or not at least it gets viewed and voted on before the group and majority staff.

- 1 Currently Occult classes are not allowed, though they haven't been banned or prohibited.
- 2 The core principle point of my character is that she is a ninja first with a small taste of the fire blast and splashable effects on it that are not worth the ki points i have to spend to use them.
- 3 It's been stated that if there is no way to make this with core classes or any other paizo made class or archetype then it will be considered. there is a way i can do this but at levels close to the teens and nowhere near at levels 1-9.

- This is an archetype for unchained ninja...ninja! the eastern weaker version of unchained rogue with one of the same things given to it and only 2 differences that barely make a difference from normal
- I lose too many things that might give ninja an edge and trade it for things to turn into a pyromaniac.
- My sneak attack damage with this is archetypes signature weapon is fire damage, no longer regular sneak attack damage. Gee about 50 other things just became immune to attacks now.
